The STUDIO KIDS Preschool is located at Laurel Arts’ Education & Dance Center at 601 Georgian Place in Somerset.
STUDIO KIDS Preschool program offers a unique academic and arts-focused curriculum aligned to state academic standards, Somerset Area School District’s kindergarten curriculum, and the Reggio Emilia approach to teaching young children.
The Reggio Emilia approach calls for the integration of the arts as a tool for cognitive, linguistic, and social development. Presentation of concepts and hypothesis in multiple forms of representation – print, art, construction, drama, music, puppetry, and shadow play – are viewed as essential to children’s understanding. Arts integration in the classroom is a key component to reaching different types of learners, and weput that philosophy into action.

The lead teacher of the preschool program is an educator certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Education in Early Childhood
Development. All staff working in the preschool class will have appropriate clearances as required.
Classes meet either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday with separate morning and afternoon sessions. Four day a week attendance is an option. Call for details.
